NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The 18/21 Notre Dame men's swimming and diving improved to 4-0 for the first time since the 2006-07 season as the Irish claimed a 176-124 victory on Friday evening (Nov.9) at the Rolfs Acquatic Center against BIG EAST rival Pittsburgh.

Notre Dame won 10 of 16 events en route to posting its eighth straight win over the Panthers in dual meet competition. The Irish have not lost to Pittsburgh since the 2003-04 campaign.

Irish All-American Frank Dyer was a double winner for the fourth consecutive meet as he won both the 1,000 free (9:25.49) and the 100 free (45.09). Teammate Nick Nemetzalso swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events as he finished with 321.75 and 380.25 points, respectively. Nemetz has now one at least one diving event in each dual meet this season.

Colin Babcockalso was a double winner in the victory as he claimed victories in the 100 breast (55.71) and 200 breast (2:04.25).

Notre Dame returns to action on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 10) when they host another BIG EAST foe, Louisville, at the Rolfs Aquatic Center beginning at 1:00 pm (ET).

200 Medley Relay: The Notre Dame "A" squad of Bogac Ayhan, Cameron Miller, Bill Bass, and Kevin Overholt claimed first place (1:31.64) ... the "B" squad of Bertie Nel, Chris Johnson, Zach Stephens, and John McGinleyearned second place (1:32.09).

1,000 Free: Frank Dyer (9:25.49) turned in a dominant first place performance for the Irish and teammate Kevin Hughes (9:35.07) took second place ... Notre Dame's Michael Hudspith(9:41.26) finished in fourth place.

200 Free: Stephens (1:41.79) jumped out to a fast start for the Irish and held on for a first place finish ... John Nappi(1:43.33) claimed third place for the Irish behind Pittsburgh's Alex Rodenkirk (1:42.29).

100 Back: Pittsburgh won the event behind a strong performance from Adam Maczewski (49.02), who grabbed the gold in the sprint ... Nel (51.00) and Ayhan (51.32) rounded out the top three for the Irish ... Joe Casino(53.15) turned in a fifth-place performance for Notre Dame.

100 Breast: The Fighting Irish duo of Colin Babcock (55.71) and Chris Johnson (56.72) got off to a fast start and dominated the event, finishing first and second, respectively ... Andrew Jensen(59.53) also posted a fourth-place finish for Notre Dame.

200 Fly: Pittsburgh's Martin Vogel (1:50.08) earned the gold, while Notre Dame's Bass (1:50.64) claimed silver... Tylor Gauger(1:54.23) placed fifth for the Irish.

50 Free: Overholt (20.95) dominated on his way to a first place finish while Notre Dame's McGinley (21.28) held off Pittsburgh's Sean Heiden (21.38) for second place ... Miller (22.01) placed sixth for the Irish.

1M Dive: Nick Nemetz won the event, posting an impressive score of 321.75 ... Pittsburgh's Erik Moore (298.72) edged out Notre Dame's Ted Wagner (297.82) for second place ... Ryan Koter(283.27) placed fifth for the Irish.

100 Free: Dyer (45.09) dominated for the Irish yet again and pulled away from the field for another first place finish ... McGinley (45.98) touched the pads second for Notre Dame, ahead of Pittsburgh's Avery Warrington (46.43) who placed third.

200 Back: Pittsburgh's Maczewski (1:49.97) finished a sweep of the backstroke events, while teammate Mack Rice (1:52.61) placed second ... Matthew DeBlasio (1:53.08), Nel (1:53.68), and Shane McKenzie(1:55.22) placed third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, for the Irish.

200 Breast: The Irish swept the podium with Babcock (2:04.25), Patrick Olson (2:06.75), and Joshua Choi (2:09.12) finishing 1-2-3 respectively ... Mason Weber(2:11.59) claimed fourth place for Notre Dame.

500 Free: Jimmy McEldrew (4:35.58) finished strong in the final 100 M to beat out Pittsburgh's David Sweeney (4:36.55) for the gold... Hudspith (4:39.57) and John Williamson(4:44.04) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, for Notre Dame.

100 Fly: Pittsburgh's Kourosh Ahani (49.29) got off to a fast start and held on for the victory ... Stephens (50.18) finished second, while Ayhan (50.95) placed fourth for the Irish.

3M Dive: Nemetz completed a diving sweep for the Irish with a score of 380.25 ... Wagner (349.80) and Michael Kreft(324.30) finished second and fourth, respectively for Notre Dame.

200 IM: Pittsburgh earned the gold in the IM behind a first place performance from Rice (1:52.24) ... Olson (1:52.57) placed second, while Nappi (1:55.94) finished fourth for Notre Dame.

400 Free Relay: The Pittsburgh "A" squad of Sweeney, Warrington, Otto Pagel, and Rodenkirk posted a gold-winning time of 3:03.23, beating out the Notre Dame "A" squad of Hudspith, Hughes, Johnson, and Babcock (3:07.19) ... the Notre Dame "B" squad of Miller, Williamson, Broderick Kelley, and Patrick Murphy (3:13.20) posted a fourth place finish.
