Notre Dame Men's Swimming and Diving Wins Eighth Straight

Events Scoring/Times

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Notre Dame men's swimming and diving team concluded its dual meet season with a 131-105 victory over Wisconsin-Milwaukee. For the Irish, it was their eighth straight win as they finished the campaign with an 11-1 record.

Notre Dame captured 10 of 11 individual events in the meet.

The 11 wins are the third most in school history and the most victories for Notre Dame since the 1992-93 campaign when it finished with an 11-2 mark. The one loss marks the third time since 1958-58 that the Irish lost only once during the season.

Notre Dame swept the top four spots in the 200 freestyle. Rob Fetter took first-place with a time of 1:44.12, followed by Roy Royer (1:46.77), Scott Koziar (1:47.76) and John Steffan (1:47.94).

Notre Dame travels to Pittsburgh, Pa. next week to compete at the four-day BIG EAST Championships which will run Wednesday-Saturday, February 18-21. The Irish have finished seventh each of the past two seasons.
