Sachire Wins Championship
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - University of Notre Dame freshman tennis player
Ryan Sachire won the championship match of the White draw at the Carolina
Classic on Sunday. Notre
Dame junior Jakub Pietrowski lost in the finals of the Blue draw, made up
of the higher-ranked players, to Tripp Phillips of North Carolina, 4-6,
6-1, 6-4.
In doubles action, the Notre Dame duo of Brian Patterson and
Pietrowski won the Blue draw by defeating the team from Harvard by a 8-4
count. Sachire and fellow freshman Matt Horsly won the White draw final
with an 8-4 win over the team from Michigan.
