Men's Tennis Players Eliminated in Early Rounds
LOS ANGELES --- The University of Notre Dame men's tennis season
came to an end on Thursday as freshman Ryan Sachire lost in the second
round of the singles portion of the NCAA Championship and the doubles team
of senior Jakub Pietrowski and sophomore Brian Patterson lost in the first
round of the doubles tournament.
Sachire was a 6-2, 6-2 loser to Ryan Wolters of Stanford, who was the
No. 7 seed in the 64-person singles tournament.
Patterson and Pietrowski lost in the 32-team doubles tournament to Tim
Crichton and Tom Hamilton of Arkansas by a 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 score. The
Razorback duo was the No. 3-seeded team in the tournament.
