AS A SENIOR:

  • Played mostly in the fall, posting a 4-8 singles record
  • Went 5-3 in doubles matches and tallied a 3-0 record in dual meets in the No. 3 doubles spot

AS A JUNIOR:

  • Played mostly in the fall, putting together a 6-7 singles record and 7-6 doubles mark
  • Went 1-0 in dual singles matches and 1-1 in dual doubles contests
  • Saw action against Detroit Mercy, DePaul and IUPUI

AS A SOPHOMORE:

  • Finished the year with a singles record of 3-6 and doubles record of 5-3
  • Played mainly in the fall  
  • Recorded victories against Columbia’s Daniel Grunberger (6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (10-8)) and Alabama’s Sam Edwards (6-2, 6-7, 6-4) at the Crimson Tide Four in the Fall
  • Also defeated Alabama’s Sam Edwards/Nikko Madregallejo (7-6 (7-5)) and Memphis’ Louis Asser/Chris Patzanovsky (6-3) with partner Daniel Rayl at the Alabama tournament

AS A FRESHMAN:

  • Finished the year with a 9-5 doubles mark, including 5-2 with Eric Schnurrenberger
  • Went 4-8 in singles
  • Recorded a 1-1 record at the No. 6 singles spot during the spring  
  • Earned a monogram

PREP AND PERSONAL:

  • Graduated from University High School (Irvine, Calif.) in the spring of 2014
  • A five star recruit  
  • Earned All-American honors during his senior year
  • Named to the National High School all-tournament team four consecutive years  
  • Also named to the all conference first team all four years of high school, and awarded the conference player of the year as a senior  
  • Orange County Register player of the year (2014)
  • Born in Chicago, Ill., to Randy and Cindy Dawson
  • Has one older sister, Ali, who plays tennis for Marquette, and one younger sister, Claire
  • Enrolled the Mendoza College of Business
