#26 Men's Tennis lost to #2 Ohio State 2-5 in the Eck Tennis Pavilion on March 3rd.

AS A JUNIOR: Enjoyed most productive season as member of the Irish, posting a record of 17-8 in singles while going 23-16 in doubles matches... earned a monogram... named member of BIG EAST Academic All-Academic All-Star team... climbed as high as 51st on the season in doubles along with teammate Spencer Talmadge... posted three wins over ranked competition in doubles action with Talmadge... put together a streak of seven straight wins in singles action during the fall slate, going a perfect 3-0 at the 2010 Chowder Fest before reeling off four-straight wins to begin ITA Midwest Regional... reached the round of 32 at the Midwest Regional after playing through the qualifying bracket, recording a first round win the main draw over Marquette's Otavio Perim (6-2, 6-1)... competed primarily at No. 5 and No. 6 singles during the dual campaign, posting records of 4-3 and 1-0 at those courts, respectively... clinched two matches... won three straight dual singles matches against USF's Juan Carlos Acuna (6-2, 6-7. 1-0), Ball State's Austin Sansone (6-2, 6-0) and #64 SMU's Robert Sajovich (6-0, 6-7, 6-2) to conclude regular season... knocked off #48 Lawrence Formentera and John Warden of Oklahoma, 9-8 (7-5) for first win of season in doubles versus a ranked foew... also took down #44 Stefan Hardy and Zach Hunter of North Carolina (8-3) and #12 Matt Allare and Peter Kobelt of Ohio State (8-6) for other wins against ranked competition... the win against Allare and Kobelt marks highest ranked foe defeated by Fitzgerald in doubles... ended the season at No. 1 doubles after beginning campaign at No. 2... posted records of 6-8 at the No. 1 court and 10-3 at No. 2.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Posted a 5-5 overall singles mark ... downed #75 William & Mary's Jamie Whiteford, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 in third singles ... defeated Bryant Dudzik of Toledo in a two- set match spent his sophomore season playing second doubles .... had an 8-3 win over #2 Virginia's Jarmere Jenkins and Houston Barrick, with partner Stephen Havens ... defeated Mirko Zapletal and Taylor Leiby of #26 Fresno State witha1-0leadandan8-2win...toppedMark Schanerman and Joshua Graves, 8-6, to edge out #45 Northwestern ... defeated Northwestern's Will Lowell and David Tillem, by an 8-5 margin, to advance to BIG EAST semifinals ... pulled out a close match against USF's Wael Kilani and Yannick Yoshizaw to help the Irish advance to the BIG EAST finals.

AS A FRESHMAN: Played a big role for the Irish in their singles lineup, registering a 6-9 record between No. 4 (1-1), 5 (2-5) and 6 (3-3) positions on the dual season ... went 9-2 during the tour schedule, including a perfect 4-0 mark while competing at the Tribe Invitational ... secured one match-clinching point, knocking off Eric Spector of Northwestern, 1-6, 6-2, 7-5, to lock up a 4-3 win for the Irish ... opened the dual season with a victory over Ilja Orre of #64 William & Mary, 5-7, 6-0, 1-0 ... defeated Ashley Watling of #12 Tulsa in a straight-sets victory, 6-1, 6-4 ... earned his sixth win of the dual season with a straight-sets victory over Tanner Stump from #48 Mississippi State, 7-6, 6-1 ... competed with Matt Johnson in doubles action during the dual season, posting a 6-9 mark at the No. 3 court ... the duo also made one appearance at No. 2 doubles, dropping a decision to Bryan Koniecko and Shuhei Uzawa of #3 Ohio State, 6-8 ... opened the dual season with a convincing victory over the tandem of Hugh Clarke and Jensen Turner of #14 Pepperdine, 8-3 ... earned back- to-back doubles point-clinching wins against Michigan State and Northwestern, knocking off the Spartans duo of Clark Richardson and Alex Forger, 8-4, and following with a win over Alexander Thams and Andrew McCarthy of the Wildcats, 8-4.
