Men's Tennis Concludes Action at ASU Thunderbird Invitational

Daly and Talarico finish with perfect records in Maroon Flight.

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Notre Dame men's tennis team wrapped up competition at the Thunderbird Invitational at Arizona State as sophomore Matt Daly and freshman Aaron Talarico finished with perfect 5-0 records in the Maroon round-robin flight. Daly beat Arizona State's Casey Was 6-2, 6-4, while Talarico beat Rice's Sasha Silver 6-2, 6-1. Freshmen Andrew Laflin and Javier Taborga finished 3-2 with wins on Saturday. Laflin beat Arizona State's Matt Jacobs 6-3, 6-1, and Taborga won 6-1, 6-2 over Rice's Otmane Bennai-Smires. Junior Rob Warn lost 6-1, 6-0 to Rice's Prakash Venkathram to finish 2-3.

In the doubles draw, sophomore Matt Daly and freshman Casey Smith dropped their quarterfinal match to Texas' third-seeded team of Martin and Blue 8-4.
