Irish Men's Tennis Team Opens Season at Vredevelt Invitational
KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- University of Notre Dame sophomore Rob Warn finished in third place in No. 1 singles at the Vredevelt Invitational held this weekend at Western Michigan University. Warn won third place by default over Ben Wustruck of Wisconsin-Green Bay after Warn had won split his first two matches of the weekend.
Junior Dennis Carroll advanced to the finals of the No. 2 singles, but lost to Nebo Kitgrin of Indiana State, 6-3, 7-5. The doubles team of Carroll and Warn finished sixth in the No. 1 doubles flight.
Warford teamed with a player from Western Michigan in Flight No. 2 doubles, but lost both of his matches by scores of 8-6 and 8-0.
