No. 23 Notre Dame Defeats Wisconsin, 5-2
NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The 23rd-ranked Notre Dame men's tennis team won four of six singles matches in a 5-2 victory over Wisconsin at Eck Pavilion on Saturday afternoon.
The Irish, which improved to 7-2 with its fourth straight victory, received straight-set victories from sophomore Ryan Sachire, senior Jakub Pietrowski and junior Brian Patterson to sweep the top three singles matches. Senior Danny Rothchild was also a victor in singles play for the Irish with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win in number four singles.
The Irish earned the doubles point by winning two of the three doubles matches including a victory by Pietrowski and Patterson in number one doubles.
Wisconsin dropped to 3-2 on the season.
