No. 23 Notre Dame Defeats New Mexico 4-1
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The 23rd-ranked Notre Dame men's tennis team defeated New Mexico 4-1 on Friday afternoon at the Blue-Gray College Classic in Montgomery, Ala.
The Irish, 11-2 overall, won three of four singles matches and claimed the doubles point for its second victory in as many days in the tournament. Junior Brian Patterson, senior Eric Enloe and sophomore Matt Horsley all won singles matches in straight sets.
Danny Rothschild and Vijay Freeman paired up to win at number two doubles while Horsley and Ryan Sachire were victorious at number three doubles for the Irish.
Notre Dame has won eight consecutive matches and will play the winner of the Alabama-Harvard match tomorrow afternoon in the Blue-Gray College Classic.
