No. 23 Notre Dame Defeats Michigan St. 7-0
NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The 23rd-ranked Notre Dame men's tennis team swept the six singles matches and cruised to a 7-0 victory over Michigan State on Wednesday at the Eck Pavilion.
The Irish won all six singles matches in straight sets including victories by sophomore Ryan Sachire, at number one singles and senior Jakub Pietrowski, at number two singles. Junior Brian Patterson won the final match of the day with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-0) victory at number three singles.
Notre Dame claimed the doubles point with victories by Pietrowski and Patterson at number one doubles and Ryan Sachire and Matt Horsley at number three doubles.
The Irish, which have won five consecutive matches, are now 8-2 overall.
