CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Rain is falling steadily in Coral Gables, Fla., delaying the start of the semifinal round of the 2003 BIG EAST Championships at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on the University of Miami campus. The third-seeded Notre Dame men (ranked 54th in the nation) were scheduled to take on #41 (and second seed) Virginia Tech in the semifinals at noon EDT (11 a.m. in South Bend), while the 24th-ranked Irish women (the second seed) were slated to meet Boston College (the third seed) at that same time. However, both contests have been delayed because the earlier 9 a.m. EDT matches have not begun either.
