Monaghan is 12-9 in dual singles matches this season playing at the top of the Irish lineup, with a 20-17 overall record and a No. 34 national singles ranking. During the conference season, he notched several key wins over ranked opponents, including Duke’s Nicolas Alvarez (then-No. 20, March 18), Miami’s Piotr Lomacki (No. 28, March 20), Virginia’s Ryan Shane (No. 8, March 25) and North Carolina’s Brayden Schnur (No. 29, April 8). Monaghan is also ranked No. 14 in the Oracle/ITA doubles rankings with partner Alex Lawson. The pair are 5-3 in dual matches this year, with a 13-5 overall record.

It is Monaghan’s fourth career all-conference nod. He was named to the All-BIG EAST squad as a freshman while also taking home BIG EAST Freshman of the Year honors. As a sophomore, he was selected to the All-ACC Third Team and has been named to the First Team in each of the last two seasons.

Hagar earned his first career All-ACC nod after a 12-9 singles campaign, including a 6-6 mark in conference play. He entered the Oracle/ITA singles rankings at No. 106 this week after winning his last three matches, including a 6-1, 7-5 victory over No. 19 Petros Chrysochos of Wake Forest during the ACC Championship quarterfinal. Chrysochos was named the conference’s Freshman of the Year and had lost just two dual matches previously. Hagar and partner Eddy Covalschi also rank 51st nationally in doubles, boasting wins over two top-20 teams in the past month.

The All-ACC Teams were selected by a vote of the league’s 13 head coaches. Georgia Tech’s Christopher Eubanks was named the ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Year, while Wake Forest head coach Tony Bresky snared Coach of the Year honors.
