ATHENS, Ga. - Notre Dame junior All-American Ryan Sachire has been named the third of 16 seeds in the 64-player draw of the NCAA singles championships which begins on Wednesday at the University of Georgia. The third-ranked Sachire will take on Tennessee's 42nd-ranked Mark Parsons at 3:00 p.m. EDT in his first match. His third seed marks the highest for an Irish singles player since David DiLucia was named the top seed of the 1992 NCAA singles championship. Harvard's James Blake and Florida's Jeff Morrison are seeded ahead of Sachire, who sports a 14-8 record against the other 63 players in the field.

By virtue of being a seeded player, Sachire earns All-America honors for the second consecutive year. As a sophomore, he garnered All-America accolades based on all three Intercollegiate Tennis Association criteria: earning a seed in the NCAA singles championships, advancing to at least the third round and finishing among the top 20 players in the ITA rankings.
