    Notre Dame Finishes Season With Second Highest Ranking In Over Two Decades

    NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- Following a season that saw a 21-10 record and an appearance in the NCAA Championship Sweet 16, the University of Notre Dame men’s tennis team secured a final ranking of 13th in the ITA Division I National Team Rankings.

    The finish is the second highest final ranking for Notre Dame men’s tennis since the 1991-92 season, when the Irish played in the finals of the NCAA Championship and ended the season with a final ranking of third. In 2007, the Irish finished in sixth place with a record of 26-4.

    Notre Dame’s NCAA Sweet 16 advancement was its first since 2007. The Irish also had individuals competing in the both the Singles and Doubles Championships for the first time since 2012.

    Over the course of this season, the Fighting Irish played seven matches against teams that finished with a top-10 ranking, including national champion University of Southern California and fourth-place finisher Virginia (a team that Notre Dame faced four times).
