Molly Lennon Anderson ('92) - who played for the first four teams in the history of the Notre Dame women's soccer program - has returned to the Monogram Club board. Lennon previously served a three-year term on the Monogram Club board of directors from 1997-2000 and then returned as an advisor for two years in 2001 and '02.

Anderson currently serves as the Adidas director of licensing and properties for Notre Dame athletics. She first joined the Adidas operation at Notre Dame in 1997, as a project coordinator, before assuming her current role in 2001.

Prior to returning to her alma mater, the former Molly Lennon actually was closely involved with the University's sister school as the residence hall rector and athletic director for the study-abroad program with the Notre Dame Australia campus from 1995-97.

Lennon earlier has received her master's of science in education from the University of Kansas ('95), with a concentration in sports administration. She took a short hiatus from her graduate studies in 1994, serving as the project coordinator for the NCAA Men's Tennis Championships held that spring at Notre Dame.

After graduating from Notre Dame in 1992 with a degree in communications, Lennon received a prestigious NCAA postgraduate scholarship that she utilized for her studies at KU.


Lennon was a freshman defender on the first Notre Dame varsity women's soccer team in 1988 and went on to be a four-year monogram winner. She appeared in 55 career games and scored four goals from her backline position, capping her career as a team captain for the 1991 team that compiled a 15-3-2 record.

Her teammates at Notre Dame included current Monogram Club board member Jill Matesic, future Irish assistant coach Margaret Jarc, steady goalkeeper Michelle Lodyga, productive midfielders Tiffany Thompson and Jodi Hartwig, and the talented forward trio of All-American Alison Lester, Stephanie Porter and Suzie Zilvitis.

A three-sport athlete at South Bend's John Adams High School in soccer, basketball and softball, Lennon followed her family ties to Notre Dame and became one of just a handful of third-generation Notre Dame student-athlete in the atheltic department's varsity sports history. Her grandfather Charles Lennon, Sr., played football for Notre Dame during the Knute Rockne era while her father Chuck Lennon ('61) was a catcher on the Irish baseball team and now is the executive director of the Notre Dame Alumni Association.

Her brother Sean is a 1987 Notre Dame graduate while another brother, Brian, and his wife Susan Hall Lennon are 1992 graduates ofthe Notre Dame Law School.

Anderson currently serves on the corporate board for the South Bend Logan Center and is a volunteer with the United Cerebral Palsy organization. She has run the Boston Marathon three times, in addition to running other marathons in Chicago and Washington, D.C.

She and husband Kevin Anderson, an assistant coach with the Notre Dame men's lacrosse team, were married in 2001 and reside in South Bend with their two-year-old son Kevin, Jr. (affectionately known as "K.J.").
