Notre Dame, Ind. -

UND.com along with other media outlets were led on a 40 minute tour of the newly renovated Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center.

Crait Tiller, Senior Project Manager, University of Notre Dame Architects and Missy Conboy, Senior Deputy Director of Athletics led the media as they toured the new seating configuration, and various other areas of the space that the public will see.

The Joyce Center originally opened in 1968 as the Athletic and Convocation Center and was rededicated in 1987 and named in honor of Rev. Edmund P. Joyce. The $26 million renovation has been underwritten with a $12.5 million leadership gift from Philip J. Purcell III, a Notre Dame alumnus and Trustee and the retired chairman and chief executive officer of Morgan Stanley. The arena will be named Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center.
