Current Student-Athlete Benefits

One of the goals of the Notre Dame Monogram Club is to provide ongoing support for current Notre Dame student-athletes. The following is a listing of benefits currently provided to student-athletes:
  • Annual Monogram Awards
    • Letter Jacket
    • Stadium Blanket/Blazer
    • Ring
    • Watch
  • Laptop computers (the Club purchased 40 for use by student-athletes when traveling on the road)
  • Post-season gifts and awards (the Club spent in excess of $80,000 in 2004-05 to purchase championship rings, plaques, etc.)
  • Sponsors student-athletes for summer service projects (in conjunction with the Center for Social Concern). For the 2005 summer:
    • Erin Locke (track and field) at the Upper Room in Kansas City, MO
    • Brianne Schmidt (cross country and track and field) at the Children's Program sponsored by the Christian Brothers in Bonita Springs, FL
    • Shannan Lettieri (rowing) at the Laughlin Chapel in Willing, WV
    • David Hochstetler (swimming and diving) at the Growing Home and Organic Farming for the Homeless in Marseilles, IL
    • Elizabeth Webster (cross country and track and field) at Vista Maria in Detroit, MI
  • Provides funding in support of the team-hosting program, in conjunction with local alumni clubs (when teams are traveling)
  • Helps to fund Notre Dame varsity sports travel abroad for competition and training
    • Softball to Ireland in October 2003
    • Women's soccer to Brazil in August 2004
    • Men's swimming and diving to Ireland in December 2004
    • Men's lacrosse to the Czech Republic in June 2005
  • Provides each student-athlete with a with an academic/athletic handbook and annual planner
  • Provides funding for incoming freshman student-athletes and graduating senior student-athletes to have dinners at the home of Dr. Kevin White
  • Provides funding to help pay for the annual O.S.C.A.R.S. celebration, including the annual highlight video
