Riley Tabbed BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for Second Straight Week

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Notre Dame freshman RUTH RILEY (Roann, Ind.) has been named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for the second straight week. The 6-5 center earned the honor a week ago.
Riley averaged 22.5 ppg. and 11.5 rpg. in a 1-1 week for the Irish who are 11-5 overall and 5-3 in the BIG EAST. In an 86-78 win over West Virginia, she had career-highs of 27 points and 12 rebounds. She hit 11-of-14 shots from the field against the Mountaineers, connecting on her first 10 attempts from the field. In a 78-76 loss at Boston College, Riley posted her fourth consecutive double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
She leads the team in rebounding (6.2 rpg.), is fourth in scoring (8.7 ppg.) and leads the team in blocks (2.5 blkspg.)
