    Irish Rebound With Thunder

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Notre Dame women's basketball team rebounded from its loss to top-ranked Connecticut on Sunday as the Irish posted a 91-64 Big East victory over Boston College at the Joyce Center. With the win, Notre Dame, ranked 17th nationally, improves to 21-5 overall and 13-1 in the Big East.

Beth Morgan, Notre Dame's all-time leading scorer, led five Notre Dame players in double figures with a game-high 17 points. She also led all rebounders with seven boards.

Rosanne Bohman, who has been in double figures in six of the last seven games, chipped in 16 points as she hit seven of nine from the field, including her first-ever three-pointer. Bohman, who fouled out in the contest, finished with five assists. Her 16 points was just one point shy of her career best

Sophomore Sheila McMillen also scored 16 points as she connected on six of eight from the field and was a perfect two-for-two from three-point range.

Notre Dame's leading scorer Katyrna Gaither added 13 points as she missed just one of her seven attempts from the field. Gaither played only 17 minutes in the game after being sidelined with two fouls early in the first half.

Freshman Julie Henderson added 10 points, hitting for double figures for the second time this season.

Notre Dame shot a season-high 68.0 percent from the field and held the Eagles to 35.7 percent accuracy from the field.

The Irish outrebounded Boston College 32-21 in the game. Boston College, which fell to 13-9 overall and 9-5 in the Big East, went to the free throw line 41 times and made 32 free throws.

The two teams combined for 55 turnovers in the game as the Irish had a season-high 27.

Notre Dame, which never trailed in the game, will return to action on Sunday, February 12 at 3:00 p.m. when the Irish travel to Providence College.
