    No. 17 Irish Run by Providence

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Three Irish players tallied 21 or more points as No. 17 Notre Dame cruised to a 97-74 victory on Sunday afternoon.

    Senior forward Rosanne Bohman scored a career high 21 points while Katryna Gaither and Beth Morgan each added double-doubles as the Irish won for the 12 time in 13 games.

    Gaither, a senior from Mt. Vernon, N.Y., connected on 10-of-13 shots from the field en route to a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds. It was Gaither's 10th double-double of the season and the 34th of her career.

    Morgan had 20 points, a game-high 11 rebounds and six steals for the Irish. The Bloomington, Ind. native recorded her fourth double-double of the season and the sixth of her career.

    Providence was led by Nadine Malcolm who scored 23 points.

    The Irish outshot (57-44 percent) and outrebounded (44-24) the Lady Friars while improving to 22-5 overall and 14-1 in Big East play. Providence is now 12-11 overall and 7-8 in league play.

    The Irish return home for a game against Villanova this Wednesday night at the Joyce Center. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
