Notre Dame to play Jayhawks as part of quadruple-header at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut (1 p.m. ET; live on ESPN3/WatchESPN).

Talented guard who lends veteran guidance to growing Irish squad ? has big-game experience at the junior college and high school levels and looks to impart that knowledge on teammates ? does whatever she can to help the team succeed.

AS A JUNIOR: Walk-on who made team in preseason tryouts and was added to roster Jan. 7 ? played in eight games, averaging 0.1 points and 0.4 rebounds per game ? scored first point on free throw and added a rebound vs. St. John?s ? had rebound at Connecticut ? saw action against Arizona and Purdue in NCAA Tournament, plucking a rebound in the latter game.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Spent two seasons at Seward County (Kan.) Community College, helping Saints to a combined record of 71-1 and the 2002 NJCAA national championship ? averaged 4.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game during two-year junior college career ? was a starter on Saints? 38-0 national championship squad.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: Was a four-year starter at Sacred Heart High School in Salina, graduating as school?s recordholder for points in game (42), season (577) and career (1,724) ? was a two-time all-state pick and named the Saline County Female Athlete of the Year after junior and senior years ? one of Salina Journal?s "Top Five Female Basketball Players of the Decade" in January 2000.

PERSONAL DATA: Born Dec. 6, 1981 in Salina, Kan. ? second of four children ? comes from athletic family ? mother Mary played volleyball and softball at Kansas Wesleyan, sister Erin played volleyball at Fort Hays State and sister Sarah played volleyball at Johnson County (Kan.) Community College ? enrolled in College of Arts and Letters as a psychology pre-professional major ? joins Jeneka Joyce as the first two Kansans ever to play for the Irish ? some former Notre Dame players who wore No. 44 include Heidi Bunek, Katura "Tootie" Jones and Meaghan Leahy.
