Notre Dame Quotes
Head Coach Muffet McGraw
"I thought offensively we did a lot of good things. That's where you're going to see the strength of our bench. I was pleased with the way that we came off the bench. I'm really happy with some of the things we did on offense. I thought we rebounded really well despite the size that we don't have right now. Offensively, I think we've got some work to do on the block and not fouling so much. We fouled way too much. I think that's the one thing that we have to take away from the game and work on."
On individual performances...
"I thought Skylar (Diggins) was a good spark and Natalie (Novosel) really got things started for us. She played really well as her first time as a starter. I thought Skylar played a very intelligent game, and she played a lot freer tonight. (Erica Solomon) is the x-factor for our team, and I think she played really well tonight."
On playing in Purcell Pavillion...
"I liked it. I think there were a few people a little close to me. I hope that changes next week because they probably won't get a very good view behind the bench. I thought it was loud. There was a lot of excitement and it looked great."
Natalie Novosel - So. - G
On playing as a sophomore instead of a freshman...
"It's a huge difference. The butterflies and everything are gone. It just feels a lot better, more confidence and everything. I just can't even describe."
Skylar Diggins - Fr. - G
On her first game...
"It was a real first game for me so I was probably a little anxious. We're going to do what Coach (McGraw) wants us to do and if we don't we're going to be a little upset with ourselves. (Having my family there is) great and helps me feel more comfortable and settle my nerves."
Erica Solomon - So. - F
On team intensity and her performance...
"Of course we wanted to keep up the intensity. I'm trying to use my speed and my footwork to my advantage. In the off-season I worked on not even touching the ball, but my conditioning. I think that's improved a lot."
University of Indianapolis Quotes
LeAnn Freeland - Head Coach
On the game...
"I just want to thank the University of Notre Dame for allowing us to come and play in their beautiful facility. Our ladies were very excited about the opportunity to come and play. I know Notre Dame has a phenomenal program, and for our ladies to have an opportunity to come and play here was a great experience."
On Notre Dame's defensive intensity and the problems it caused her team...
"We definitely were not quite prepared for the type of pressure that they were able to put on us. I thought early in the first half and early in the second half we were a little fresher so we were able to handle it a little bit better, but their overall size, strength, and athleticism is just too much for us. I think we could have handled it a little bit better, but they do what they do very well."
