    NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Junior guard Niele Ivey (St. Louis, Mo.) has been honored for the second time this season as the BIG EAST Player of the Week after averaging 16.0 points, 9.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds in Notre Dame's two wins last week over 20th-ranked Boston College and Seton Hall. She shares the honor this week with Tammy Sutton-Brown of Rutgers.

    Ivey scored 17 points, dished off seven assists and grabbed six rebounds in Notre Dame's 74-59 victory over 20th-ranked Boston College. The win was the fourth in five games for the Irish over a ranked opponent this season.

    In Notre Dame's 77-49 win over Seton Hall, she recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 assists against the Pirates. Her 11 assists in the contest tied her career-high. In the two games, Ivey was 11-for-17 (.647) from the field, including six-for-eight from three-point range.

    Currently, Notre Dame is off to its best start in school history with a 19-2 mark. Ivey , one of four players in double figures averaging 13.3 ppg., leads the team in assists (6.7 aspg.) and steals (2.6 spg.).

    Ivey also was named the league's player of the week on November 16 and becomes the second Notre Dame player to be honored by the BIG EAST this season.
