SPRING OF 2002: Will miss the spring season studying abroad in
London.
FALL OF 2001: Sat in the sixth seat of the first varsity eight
which won at the Milwaukee River Challenge and the Chicago Chase ... in
Milwaukee, team was first at 22:14 ... won the Chicago Chase in 16:12.90 ...
was second at the Head of the Rock to Wisconsin ... teamed with Michelle
Olsgard to finish third in the pairs race at the Head of the Rock ... is a
member of the Notre Dame Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Earned her first monogram after rowing in the
first boat during the 2000-01 season ... was named to the BIG EAST
Academic All-Star team ... was a member of the first varsity eight which
experienced its most successful season in the history of the program ...
took fifth at the Central Regions, barely missing an invitation to the
NCAA Championships after finishing the season ranked 16th in the nation
... the Irish varsity eight won five of seven races in the spring
including wins over Wisconsin and Michigan State ... was sixth in the
Jessop-Whittier Cup at the prestigious San Diego Crew Classic ... took the
gold medal at the Head of the Elk Regatta, winning in 13:27.70 ... it
was the first gold medal for a Notre Dame varsity eight boat in a race
of the that magnitude in the history of the program ... boat took second
in the Chicago Chase in 17:51.00, third at the Head of the Rock
(15:51.35) and third at the Head of the Grand (11:24) ... also rowed in
three pairs races in the fall and won a gold medal in the second varsity
four race at the Head of the Elk.
AS A FRESHMAN: Rowed in the fifth seat of the first novice eight
boat most of the season ... placed fourth at the Central Region, barely
missing the bronze medal by .08 seconds ... won a silver medal at the
Georgetown Invitational which features all of the BIG EAST schools which
sponsor rowing ... competed in the number five seat at Georgetown ...
novice eight crew won its opening heat at the Midwest Rowing
Championships and finished third in the grand final, improving its heat
time by 1.5 seconds ... placed fourth at the SIRA Championships, rowing
in the five seat.
PREP AND PERSONAL: Earned six letters (three in softball, three
in basketball) at Prospect High School ... was team MVP her junior and
senior seasons in basketball and her senior year in softball .... earned
all-city and all-conference honors in both sports ... softball team won
the regional championship as a senior ... was team captain of both the
softball and basketball teams ... was voted senior athlete of the year
... played in the MSL Senior All-Star Softball Game .... almost pitched
a perfect game as her team won the regional championships as a senior
... was a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, Principal's
Advisory Council and Service Club ... was the president of Varsity Club
and Knight Under No Influence ... is a member of Pillars at Notre Dame
... oldest of three children ... parents are Peter and Margaret
