FALL OF 2000:
Was a member of the second or third varsity eight vessel most of the fall season ... placed 18th at the Head of the Elk Regatta rowing in the sixth seat of the third varsity shell ... finished sixth at the Head of the Grand ... rowed with the second lightweight four at the Head of the Rock, placing fourth ... was fourth at the Chicago Chase in the open four race.
AS A FRESHMAN:
Rowed as a member of the novice squad ... rowed in the fourth or fifth seat of the second novice eight vessel most of the season ... won the second novice eight championship by over nine seconds at the Georgetown Invitational ... placed fourth out of 11 boats in the second novice eight races at the SIRA Championships in Oak Ridge, Tenn. ... placed fifth overall in the second novice eight grand final at the Midwest Rowing Championships in Madison, Wis. ...rowed in the fifth seat of the second novice eight at the Central Region Championships, placing fifth in the grand finals.
PREP AND PERSONAL:
Was a four-year letterwinner in swimming at Hickman High School ... team won the state championship her freshman year ... was a member of Student Government, band, National Honor Society and many church organizations while in high school ... one of three children of Jean and Vince Gurucharri ... father is a ‘68 graduate of Notre Dame, while grandfather, Vince, and uncle, Mike, are Notre Dame graduates as well ... sister, Linda, was a member of the Northwestern water polo team ... born Dec. 6, 1980, in Columbia, Mo. ... enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts, hoping to major in anthropology and history.
