FALL OF 2001: Has made the biggest jump of anyone on the roster in 2001, rowing in the first varsity eight after being a member of the novice roster last season ... rowed in the fifth seat of the first varsity eight that placed first at the Milwaukee River Challenge and was in the fifth seat of the gold-medal winning first boat at the Chicago Chase ... placed third with partner Ashlee Warren in the pairs race at the Chicago Chase and fourth at the Head of the Rock. AS A FRESHMAN: Rowed as a member of the novice team in 2000-01 ... was in the sixth seat in the winning novice eight against Tennessee ... boat also won at Michigan State and Dayton ... also won at Indiana Cup, outdistancing the field by almost eight seconds ... won its heat at the Midwest Rowing Championship before the finals were cancelled due to inclement weather ... novice eight lost its first race of the season at the BIG EAST Rowing Challenge ... placed third in its petite final heat at the Central Region ... sat in the fourth seat of the novice eight boat which placed fifth at the Head of the Elk ... also competed in the open eight race, placing 23rd in Elkhart. PREP AND PERSONAL: Was a five-time letterwinner in volleyball and softball at St. Francis High School ... was an all-city and all-conference player in both volleyball and softball ... most valuable player of the softball team her freshman and senior seasons ... volleyball team was regional champions her senior season ... participated in the ASA softball nations in 1996 and 1998 and in the volleyball Junior Olympics in 1999 ... participated in the volleyball and softball Optimist game ... winner of the PowerBar Student-Athlete Award ... was a senior class senator and a member of Students Reaching Out ... one of two children for Cosette and Bob Ladine ... brother Jeff played rugby at Santa Clara University S born Aug. 2, 1982, in Sacramento, Calif. ... enrolled in the College of Science ... hopes to major in pre-professional studies. |
