COACH STONE ON MURRAY: “Caitlin is in her first full year of rowing. She is making great strides. She works very hard at all the aspects of rowing.” FALL OF 2000: Rowed in both the fours and the eights during the fall season ... was a member of the third varsity eight boat that placed 18th at the Head of the Elk ... sat in the number two seat for that race ... rowed bow for the second varsity four at the Head of the Grand, placing fifth ... was fourth in the lightweight four event at the Head of the Rock and the Chicago Chase to open the season. PREP AND PERSONAL: Three-sport athlete at Orchard Park High School competing in soccer, lacrosse and track and field ... team captain and most valuable player of the soccer team her senior year ... named all-conference her junior and senior years ... selected to participate in a senior all-star game ... a member of National Honor Society ... one of two children ... daughter of Mary and John Murray ... born Jan. 30, 1980, in Rochester, N.Y. ... enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters majoring in English. WHY NOTRE DAME?: “I am a member of the rowing team because I don’t ever want to say that I could have been a varsity athlete at Notre Dame. I joined the team because I wanted to know, for myself, that I could do it.”
