FALL OF 2000:
Sat in the second seat of the lightweight eight boat that claimed the gold medal at the Chicago Chase ... that was the first varsity race she had competed in at Notre Dame having been a member of the novice team as a freshman ... won a silver medal at the Head of the Rock in the lightweight eight race ... moved to the third varsity eight boat, sitting in the second seat, at the Head of the Grand in East Lansing, Mich. ... finished sixth in East Lansing ... was fifth in the second lightweight four boat at the Head of the Elk.
AS A FRESHMAN:
Competed in the third novice eight shells against Michigan State sitting in the sixth seat earning gold ... moved to the second novice eight boat against Drake, sitting in the second seat ... earned a silver medal against Drake ... competed with the novice four crew at the Midwest Sprints, placing fourth ... joined the second novice eight team, sitting stroke, at the Central Regions, capturing fifth place.
PREP AND PERSONAL:
Was a four-sport athlete in basketball, cross country, soccer and lacrosse at Ursuline Academy ... was team captain and MVP of the basketball team the two seasons she played the sport ... was team captain and MVP of the soccer team her sophomore and junior seasons ... also was team captain of the cross country team that won the state meet her senior year ... team also won state in cross country her freshman year ... was the winner of the school’s scholar-athlete award ... was a member of National Honor Society ... is one of two children for Victoria and Stephen Shea ... born Jan. 18, 1981, in Wilmington, Del. ... enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business.
