FALL OF 2001: Returned to the top varsity eight vessel, finishing first at both the Milwaukee River Challenge and the Chicago Chase ... was second at the Head of the Rock ... won the Milwaukee race in 22:14, sitting in the sixth seat ... moved to the fourth seat for the Chicago Chase and the Head of the Rock ... teamed with Natalie Ladine to finish fourth at the Head of the Rock in the pairs race ... is a member of the Notre Dame Academic Honors Program for the second consecutive matching student-athlete with mentor from their particular area of interest. AS A SOPHOMORE: Named to the second team of the USRowing College Honor Roll ... with Becky Luckett, became the first Irish rowers to earn such distinction ... a member of the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association All-Central Region team ... named to the CRCA National Scholar-Athlete Award team as well ... earned BIG EAST Academic All-Star team honors Shad a very successful 2000-01 making the jump from the novice roster in 1999-2000 to the varsity roster ... was a member of the first varsity eight which experienced its most successful season in the history of the program ... took fifth at the Central Regions, barely missing an invitation to the NCAA Championships ... varsity eight finished the season ranked 16th in the nation ... the Irish varsity eight won five of seven races in the spring, including wins over Wisconsin and Michigan State ... was sixth in the Jessop-Whittier Cup at the prestigious San Diego Crew Classic Srowed in the sixth seat of the varsity eight boat that won a gold medal at the Head of the Elk Regatta .... that marked the first time the Notre Dame varsity eight had won a race at such a high level of competition ... also claimed gold in the varsity four race at the Head of the Elk ... started the her varsity career by teaming with Becky Luckett to win the pairs competition at the Chicago Chase ... again joined forces with Luckett in placing third in pairs at the Head of the Rock ... won the pairs at the Head of the Grand ... boat took second in the Chicago Chase in 17:51.00, third at the Head of the Rock (15:51.35) and third at the Head of the Grand (11:24) AS A FRESHMAN: Rowed as a member of the first novice eight boat all season, sitting in the seventh seat for the Irish ... placed fourth at the Central Regions barely missing the bronze medal by .08 seconds ... won a silver medal at the Georgetown Invitational which features all of the BIG EAST schools which sponsor rowing ... competed in the seventh seat at Georgetown ... novice eight crew won its opening heat at the Midwest Rowing Championships and finished third in the grand final improving its heat time by 1.5 seconds ... novice eight won its opening heat and then placed fourth overall at the SIRA Championships. PREP AND PERSONAL: A four-year letterwinner in three sports (basketball, softball and volleyball) ... team captain in all three sports as a senior ... team MVP in all three sports ... earned all-conference honors in volleyball, basketball and softball as a junior and a senior ... a participant in the Media One All-Star game for volleyball and basketball ... played in Northwest District Softball All-Star game ... awarded the Lady Mohawk Award given to the female athlete in her high school who most exemplify sportsmanship, hard work and dependability ... a member of National Honor Society and student government in high school ... one of three girls for Sherri and Mike Warren ... born Dec. 18, 1980, in Cleveland, Ohio ... enrolled in the College of Science. |
