The Notre Dame varsity eight of Cassie Markstahler, Jayme Szefc, Michelle Olsgard, Ashlee Warren, Becky Luckett, Diane Price, Natalie Ladine, Katie Besson and Katherine Burnett placed fifth in its heat at the 2002 NCAA Rowing Championships today in Indianapolis, Ind. The Irish now compete in the repechage heat at 4:15 Friday afternoon and must finish in the top three to advance to Saturday's semifinals.
