Albrecht Records Career Low Round

Sept. 23, 2017

Round One Results | Round Two Tee Times

NORMAN, Okla. – It was a career day for Notre Dame women’s golfer Emma Albrecht who fired off a 67 (-4) in the opening round of the 2017 Schooner Fall Classic at the Belmar Golf Club (par 71 / 6,046 yards). As a result, the junior is tied with three other golfers atop the individual leaderboard.

As a team, the No. 15 Irish shot a 294 (+10), which puts them in a tie for 12th place along with Washington in the loaded 15-team field which features eight teams ranked inside Golfweek’s top-50.

Note Of The Day
Albrecht’s 67 tied for the fifth lowest round total in program history, ultimately falling one stroke short of tying the all-time record. It also marked the lowest round since fellow teammate Isabella DiLisio shot a 67 back in the first round of the Clover Cup in March last season.

Leading The Irish Lineup
Albrecht continues to shine in the start of the 2017-18 season. In the first round of this season’s Minnesota Invitational, Albrecht’s 68 tied her then career low before going on to tie for the lowest individual three-round score in school history with a 210.

On Saturday afternoon, Albrecht notched a three-under par on the front nine, before going on to play bogey-free golf on the back, finishing at four-under. Now, Albrecht’s 67 has put the junior in a tie for first place alongside Oklahoma’s Kaitlin Milligan, Clemson’s Alice Hewson and Texas A&M’s Maddie Szeryk.

Rounding out the Irish lineup were DiLisio’s 75 (+4), Abby Heck’s 76 (+5), Maddie Rose Hamilton’s 76 (+5) and Alison Snakard’s 82 (+11).

Irish Scorecards
T1 -- Emma Albrecht: 67
T50 -- Isabella DiLisio: 75
T63 -- Abby Heck: 76
T63 -- Maddie Rose Hamilton: 76
T77 -- Alison Snakard: 82

Up Next
The Irish will look to make a move up the leaderboard in Sunday’s second round, with Notre Dame beginning to tee-off at 10:20 a.m. ET.
