KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Irish women's golf team shot a final round 302 to finish ninth at the 2009 Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championship (908/+44) at the Fox Den Country Club. Sophomore Becca Huffer (Denver, Colo./Littleton) shot a two-over par 74 to lead the Irish on the final round of play.

Huffer had a birdie, 14 pars and three bogeys on Sunday as she finished the tournament at seven-over par (223). She placed in a tie for 15th, giving her a top-15 finish in all four of Notre Dame's 2009 fall tournaments.

Senior co-captain Annie Brophy (Spokane, Wash./Gonzaga Prep) turned in a final round three-over par 75 to finish at eight-over par (224) for the weekend. Her final round included a birdie, 13 pars and four bogeys. She tied for 20th.

Junior So-Hyun Park (Seoul, South Korea/Bradenton Prep) carded her best round of the tournament on Sunday, as she finished with a two-over par 74 to move into a tie for 47th with her 13-over par total (229).

Katie Conway (Wading River, N.Y.) closed out Notre Dame's scoring on the day with a seven-over par 79. She finished the tournament at 16-over par (232) to finish tied for 60th. Senior co-captain Kristin Wetzel (Middletown, N.Y./Hilton Head Prep) shot a final round 83.

The hosts form Tennessee captured the team title with a four-over par 868 total. Tennessee's Nathalie Mansson and Laura Anderson of Louisville tied for first on the individual leaderboard at one-under par (213). The Irish finished ahead of four teams that were ranked ahead of them entering the event (LSU/7, Tulane/20, Ohio State/9 and Furman/32).

The Irish close out the fall portion of their 2009-10 schedule at the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio, Texas. The two-day event will be played at Briggs Ranch on October 26 and 27.
