Women’s Golf Tied For 13th After One Round At The Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The Notre Dame women’s golf team shot a 15-over par 303 in the first round of play at the Landfall Tradition on Friday, which is being played at the Country Club of Landfall on the Pete Dye Course (6,166 yards/par 72).

On a crowded leaderboard, the Irish ended day one tied for 13th but just ten strokes back of UCF and Alabama, who are tied for fourth. Oklahoma shot a 284 (-4) to take the 18-hole lead, followed by Wake Forest (288) and Purdue (291).

Oklahoma’s Hannah Wood shot a three-under par 69 to take the individual lead after one round of play.

The second round will get underway on Saturday morning beginning with a split tee start at 8:30 a.m. Notre Dame’s tee times will start at 9:15 a.m. and the Irish will be starting their rounds on the 10th hole.

LEADING NOTRE DAME LINEUP

Senior Jordan Ferreira, who started at the No. 1 position for the Irish, and sophomore Emma Albrecht, who started from the No. 5 spot, each carded three-over par 75’s. Ferreira’s birdies on the day came on No. 16 and No. 17, while Albrecht birdied No. 12 and No. 13.

Albrecht also played the par-5’s at a one-under par clip, which tied for ninth-best in the field.

Last season, Notre Dame shot the fourth-lowest 54-hole score in school history en route to a second-place finish at the Landfall Tradition.

A native of Walpole, Massachusetts, Colleran spent the previous three years working with the men’s hockey and soccer programs at Providence College.
