Notre Dame in Fourth Place at Midwest Classic
SURPRISE, Ariz - The Univerity of Notre Dame women's golf team stands in fourth place following first-day action at the Midwest Classic, after firing a 312 Friday at the par-72, 5,818 yard Desert Springs Golf Club.
The Irish stand just eight shots behind first-place Northwestern in the three-day, 54-hole event.
Notre Dame senior co-captain Katie King is one of three players tied for second after firing a three-over 75, two shots behind Minnesota's Keri Sawvell.
Sophomore Andrea Klee and freshman Mary Klein hold a share of 14th after firing rounds of 78. Other Irish first-round scores include an 81 from freshman Becca Schloss, an 82 by senior Tracy Melby and an 86 from sophomore Beth Cooper.
