Becomes the first Notre Dame women's lacrosse player to return for her fifth-year of eligibility ... has battled knee injuries here entire career ... won first monogram as a senior in 2004 ... veteran leader of the Notre Dame defense ... tough, physical player who is strong around the front of the goal crease ... team leader on the field ... has excellent lacrosse skills and communicates directions on the field to her teammates ... solid, all-around player who continues to improve her game ... outstanding one-on-one player ... hard worker who does not stray from the physical play ... three-time Dean's List student in the fall of 2001 and 2002 and the spring of 2004 ... has played in 27 games, making 13 starts during her career ... has recorded 16 ground balls, eight caused turnovers and two draw controls in her career.

AS A SENIOR: Started 13 games for the Irish, helping 14th-ranked defense in the nation give up just 8.54 goals per game ... recorded 13 ground balls, six caused turnovers and two draw controls on the year ... first career start came at California on Feb. 27 ... played first six games before being sidelined after injuring knee versus Virginia Tech ... recorded career-best three ground balls in win over No. 2 Duke ... missed Boston College, Connecticut, Ohio University and Ohio State games ... returned versus Georgetown and did not miss a game the remainder of the season.

AS A JUNIOR:Saw action in nine games for the Irish on defense, coming off the bench in all of them ... recorded two caused turnovers in limited action due to a knee injury suffered during the 2002 season ... sat out the fall while rehabilitating the knee.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Saw action in just three games before being forced out of the lineup with a knee injury ... was being counted on to be one of team's top defensive reserves ... recorded three ground balls in three games.

AS A FRESHMAN: Saw action in two games (Denver and Ohio State) during rookie campaign recording one caused turnover.

PREP AND PERSONAL: Played on New England All-Star team as a junior ... was one of two freshmen to start on Wilton High School's lacrosse team ... led 1999 high school team to a conference championship and national ranking ... tore ACL at outset of senior lacrosse season and sat out the year ... still served as captain of that team ... earned eight letters in lacrosse and swimming combined ... won conference championships in swimming as a freshman and sophomore ... named senior scholar-athlete by The Wilton Villager ... daughter of Brian and MaryAnn Higgins ... has one brother, Kevin, who captained the 2000 Irish men's lacrosse team ... father, Brian, played college football at Holy Cross from 1968-70 ... born Oct. 11, 1982, in Rockville Center, N.Y. ... graduated with degrees in sociology and film, television and theatre in May of 2004 ... currently taking graduate level courses in psychology.
