NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Maggie Tamasitis and Margaret Smith, members of the University of Notre Dame women's lacrosse team, have been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced by the league Monday. The pairing earn the honors after their performances in Sunday's victory over Boston University.
Tamasitis claims honor roll recognition for the first time on the season. The senior from Boyertown, Pa., put in a dominant performance against the Terriers, setting personal bests in both goals (5) and points (9) in a single game while also tying her record in ground balls (3). Tamasitis also dished out four assists in the contest, moving her atop the Irish career assist list with 107 total helpers.
Smith, meanwhile, continued to wreak havoc through the midfield, forcing a career best six turnovers to go along with picking up five draw controls and four ground balls. The sophomore out of Westminster, Md., also chipped in offensively in the contest, netting one goal and one assist. This is the second time on the season Smith has appeared on the honor roll.
The duo and the rest of the Irish roster open up their first two-match week Tuesday as they square off against Yale (2-1) at 6:00 p.m. (ET) at Hilltopper Stadium in Delray Beach, Fla.
