NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Notre Dame women's lacrosse sophomore Lindsay Powell has earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after scoring six goals in two games last week, the league office announced on Monday.
Powell, who leads the Irish with 44 goals and sits in a tie for 10th in school history for a single season, scored a pair of hat tricks as the Irish went 1-1 on the week.
The Honeoye Falls, N.Y., product was one of the few bright spots in a 17-7 loss at No. 1 Northwestern on Wednesday as she scored three goals and scooped up three draw controls.
In a record-setting 22-2 win over Cincinnati on Senior Day, Powell recorded another hat trick and also tallied two draw controls.
Powell, who sits fourth in the league in goals (44) and goals per game (2.75), and her Irish teammates head to Syracuse, N.Y., this week as the No. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Championship. Notre Dame takes on No. 2 seed Loyola (Md.) on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in a game that can be seen on CBS Sports Network, with the winner meeting either the top seed and host Syracuse Orange or No. 4 seed Georgetown on Saturday at 1 p.m..
