Notre Dame Women Take Second Place at Indiana Track Meet
Bloomington, Ind. -- The Notre Dame women's track and field team took second-place with a score of 110 in a meet against both the University of Tennessee and Indiana University. The Irish lost by ten points to the Volunteers and beat the Hoosiers by 16.
Sophomore Joanna Deeter was a double winner for the Irish winning both the One mile run and 3,000 meter run. Deeter's time of 5:03.78 in the mile bested her time in the meet last year by three seconds. Deeter also established a NCAA provisional time of 9:46.64 in the 3,000 meter run.
Among the other winners for Notre Dame were: Carri Lenz in the 400 meter dash
(57.45) and Berit Juner in the 800 meter run (2:15.02).
The Notre Dame Women's Track and Field team comes home next weekend, February 6th and 7th, to host the Meyo Invitational.
