Fayetteville, Ark. - Notre Dame junior sprinter Liz Grow (New Braunfels, Tex.) advanced to the finals of the 400 meters at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Friday night at the Randal Tyson Track Center at the University of Arkansas.

The Irish sprinter will be one of eight runners who will run for the championship on Saturday, Mar. 10th at 6:45 p.m.

Grow finished second in her heat with a time of 53.42, just .12 seconds off her personal best and school record time of 53.30.

She was sixth overall edging out Tulane's Nadia Peterson (53.42) and South Carolina's Tacita Bass (53.69). Her time was .23 behind fifth place finisher Petagay Gayle of Alabama (53.19).

This is Grow's second appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships as she also ran the 400 meters in 1999.
