Notre Dame Rowing Practice

The Irish practicing on the River.

Heather Constant Schlosberg is entering her third season with the Notre Dame rowing staff. Schlosberg began assisting the Irish in the fall of '08. For the '08-09 year, she helped with the first years, primarily working with the second novice eight and four. Currently, she is assisting with the varsity squad and coxswain development.

Schlosberg formerly worked at the University of Tennessee where she served as an assistant coach from 2006-08. While at Tennessee, Schlosberg headed up primary coaching duties of the novice squad and managed all team travel. The Lady Volunteers finished ninth and 11th at the NCAA Championship during her two years with the team.

Prior to Tennessee, Schlosberg directed the junior women's program at the Minneapolis Rowing Club.

Starting as an assistant coach in '02, she rose in ranks to take over the head coach position in '05. She then led the squad to its first-ever winning season culminating in a fourth place showing at the prestigious 2005 Head of the Charles Regatta in the youth women's four event.

Schlosberg graduated cum laude from Boston University where she was a three-year varsity letter winner for their men's crew team. She coxed the varsity eight to program best finishes in `05, including grand final appearances at both the Eastern Sprints and the IRA National Championship, and BU's first cup win over Wisconsin since '95. She was named the Boston University Men's Crew Scholar Athlete her senior year for graduating with the highest GPA amongst the team.

In the summer of '09, Schlosberg married Irish Associate Head Rowing Coach, Joe Schlosberg. The two reside in South Bend.
