Women's Rowing


IN THE FALL: Part of the eight crew that took third at the Head of the Rock in a time of 16:01.24 to open the season ... placed fifth in the open-b race (15:49.7) at the Head of the Elk competition ... finished fifth in the pairs race at the Head of the Elk, racing with Close.

AS A JUNIOR: Earned her second monogram with the Irish ... named to the 2004 BIG EAST Academic All-Star Team ... was a member of the second varsity eight for the Irish in the spring ... led crew to a first place finish at the BIG EAST meet, while allowing the Irish to land their first ever team championship ... finished third against Michigan, Clemson, Eastern Michigan and Michigan State ... placed third in the second varsity eight behind Cal and USC at the San Diego Crew Classic ... came in runner-up at the Indiana Crew Classic and against Boston University and Northeastern ... earned runner-up honors in the grand finals of the Central Sprints ... in the fall, rowed in the Club Eight race at the prestigious Head of the Charles, placing third out of 47 boats.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Did not row in the spring season ... rowed in the six seat of the first varsity eight for the fall schedule ... finished second to Iowa in the season opener at the Milwaukee River Challenge ... won first place at home against Kansas ... finished fourth at the prestigious Head of the Ohio in 15:05 ... placed third at the Head of the Rock, missing second by less than a second ... also rowed in pairs with Erica Drennen at the Head of the Rock, finishing 12th.

AS A FRESHMAN: Earned her first monogram in her first season with the Irish ... rowed as part of the first varsity four for the spring season ... won first in the petite finals, and seventh overall in 7:53.9 at the Lexus Sprints ... took home the gold medal, winning by almost six seconds, at BIG EAST ... won by almost 20 seconds at the Indiana Crew Classic, crossing the line in 7:30.8 ... in the fall, was a member of the third varsity eight in her first-ever collegiate race at the Milwaukee River Challenge, where her crew was fifth ... rowed in the sixth seat of the novice eight at the Chicago Chase and the Head of the Rock ... took gold medals in both races.

PREP AND PERSONAL: Three-year letterwinner in rowing at Berkeley High School ... was invited to the Southwest Junior National Development Camp in both 2000 and 2001 ... placed third in 2001 ... a two-time champion of the Long Beach Invitational ... won the pairs race ... one of two children for Louise and Tim Specht ... born Oct. 8, 1983, in Berkeley, Calif. ... enrolled in the College of Science, majoring in chemistry.
