The Irish second varsity eight and varsity four launches will race Saturday in an attempt to become the first NCAA Grand Final qualifier in program history.

Notre Dame's first varsity eight opened the morning session with a third-place finish in the third heat of eight-squad racing, posting a time 7:07.338. After a third-place result (7:15.092) against top-ranked opponents Southern California (6:56.304) and Princeton (6:58.556) in the second varsity eight third preliminary heat, Notre Dame logged a runner-up effort in the repechage heat.
