NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The United States Rowing Association recently announced that two University of Notre Dame rowers have been selected to attend the 2013 Women’s Under 23 National Team Selection Camp this summer in Princeton, N.J. Junior Molly Bruggeman will make her second straight appearance at the camp, while sophomore teammate Erin Boxberger is set to participate for the first time.
Bruggeman and Boxberger are among 26 collegiate rowers chosen to attend the camp, which will begin late in May and conclude on July 10. The final squads for the women’s eight and women’s quad boats will represent USRowing at the 2013 World Rowing Under 23 Championships July 24-28 in Linz, Austria.
Bruggeman competed with the women's four at the 2012 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Trakai, Lithuania. She was also named a CRCA First Team Pocock All-American last season.
Boxberger rowed with the Notre Dame first varsity eight boat as a freshman in 2012, and finished the season as part of the winning crew over conference rivals Syracuse, Louisville and Georgetown in the grand final race at the BIG EAST Championship.
