The Notre Dame rowing team returns to the site of its most successful weekend of competition when the Irish travel to Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn., for the 2008 Aramark Sprints. A field of 22 teams will be competing in the event the serves as the NCAA Central/South Region Championships. Racing begins on Sat., May 16 and continues through Sunday. May 17.
The Irish have not been action since April 27 when they won their fifth straight BIG EAST by sweeping all six races. This weekend's events include racing in the varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four, open four and novice eight. Notre Dame's varsity eight crew is ranked 18th in this week's Collegiate Coaches Rowing Association (CRCA)/USRowing Poll. Of the 22 teams competing in the race, seven varsity eight crews are ranked.
