Meotis Erikson Named Big East Rookie of the Week
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Notre Dame freshman forward Meotis Erikson (Kennewick, Wash.) has been named BIG EAST women's soccer rookie of the week for the second time in three weeks. She scored 10 points in wins at Wisconsin and Syracuse with a goal and an assist against the Badgers and an assist and her first career hat trick against the Orangewomen. Erikson has scored at least one point in each of the last eight games and at least one goal in each of the last seven. Erikson is tied for second on the team in scoring with 13 goals and six assists for 32 points. In BIG EAST games, she leads the Irish in scoring and is third in the conference with 10 goals and three assists for 23 points in eight games.
The second-ranked Irish are 14-0-1 and 8-0-0 in the BIG EAST. The conference regular season title will be on the line this weekend when Seton Hall and Connecticut travel to Notre Dame on Fri., Oct. 24, and Sun., Oct. 26, with both teams also sporting identical 8-0-0 records in BIG EAST play.
