The National Champion women's soccer team got together one last time on Friday, May 13, when it traveled to Washington, D.C., to visit the White House as one of four national-championship squads to be recognized by President George W. Bush.

The Notre Dame players were participants and spectators during the official ceremony that honored four recent spring and fall national champions (also Indiana men's soccer, Stanford women's volleyball and Cal State Fullerton baseball).

President Bush recognized fellow Texas native Randy Waldrum and praised his team for their national championship season.

The recognition ceremony included several dignitaries and many members of the White House press corps.

In addition to recognizing the teams for their national titles, President Bush also praised their success as role models and their active participation in community service.
