2005 NOTRE DAME WOMEN'S SOCCER - NCAA Quarterfinal at #1 Portland (Nov. 25, 7:00 PST) ... The 5th-ranked Notre Dame women's soccer team (22-2-0, 10-1-0 BIG EAST) - which received one of four national No. 2 seeds and is riding a 13-game winning streak - continues defense of its NCAA title this weekend at Portland's Merlo Field, as the Irish face the tall task of taking on the top-ranked Pilots in an NCAA quarterfinal game on Friday, Nov. 25 (7:00 PST) ... see note below for TV broadcast, internet audio and other ways to track the game ... the winner faces the Penn State-Santa Clara winner in the NCAA semifinals (Dec. 2, at Texas A&M) ... the top eight seeds have advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time since '98 ... the game will renew one of college soccer's top non-conference rivalries between the Catholic "sistter schools" ... ND's 7-3-0 series lead includes a 3-1 home win in the '04 NCAA quarterfinals (the first time the home team had won in the series, 1-7-0 plus two neutral-site games) ...
