NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame’s women’s soccer team's three representatives at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will go head-to-head Friday when the United States and Mexico meet in the first round of elimination play in Papua New Guinea.

The U.S., which claims Sabrina Flores and Natalie Jacobs on the roster, advanced from Group C, posting one win and two draws to tie for the group lead with France. Mexico, which houses Monica Flores, went 2-1-0 in Group D, taking second to Germany and advancing to the quarterfinals.

Monica Flores has played every minute of all three matches so far for Mexico. Jacobs has made two appearances for the U.S.

The U.S. and Mexico will face off at 4 p.m. local time (1 a.m. ET) Friday at Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
