starts (14) during conference play ... she held the opposition to
a .192 batting average while allowing only 1.32 earned runs per
contest ... had 98 strikeouts which ranked second among
league pitchers during conference play ... ranked among the
nation's best throughout the season in wins and ERA ... her
0.61 ERA on April 6 through 26 appearances was the thirdbest
in the country at that point in the season ... set program's
single-season record for wins (30), appearances (54), and
innings pitched (291.1) ... started 39 contest in 2008, completing
32 of those games ... totaled eight shutouts with 244 strikeouts
... posted a 1.47 ERA overall (49th nationally) and a 30-15

comeback win over California (Feb. 17) after punching in 4.1
innings of relief time and gave up only two hits without a run... held Texas A&M (Feb. 16) to only four hits in a completegame
effort ... opened the season against Utah (Feb. 15) with
a 6-2 win, limiting the Utes to only three hits ... tossed 3.1
scoreless innings of two-hit relief against Gardner-Webb (Feb.
22) ... named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week on March
10 after making five appearances for the Irish from March 1-
9, logging 25.1 innings of work while posting a 0.55 ERA ...
during that time she fanned 21 batters, issued three walks, and
gave up only two earned runs ... tossed a one-hitter against
Long Beach State (March 7) but did not get the run support
needed to earn the victory in Notre Dame's 1-0 loss ... one
day later she notched a win over Virginia Tech (March 9) by
giving up only one run on six hits with four strikeouts ...
checked in for the Irish against UCLA to turn in a shutout
relief performance ... named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the
Week on March 17, claiming the honor for the second time in
as many weeks ... turned in a 0.41 ERA over three appearances
at Charleston Southern's Lowcountry Collegiate Softball
Invitational to earn a spot on the event's all-tournament team
... she pitched her way to three wins from the circle - including
two shutouts - while giving up only 13 hits in 17.1 frames
at the invite ... struck out 12 batters over that interval and
allowed one earned run ... found a spot on the BIG EAST's
weekly honor roll for her efforts against Western Michigan
(March 20) ... tossed a complete-game shutout to give Notre
Dame a 2-0 non-conference win against WMU on a cold
Michigan afternoon ... gave up only two hits in 7.0 frames of
work and struck out nine Broncos ... she also helped herself by
cleanly fielding six grounders for outs ... her only walk of the
game came in the bottom of the sixth inning ... teamed with
Jody Valdivia to help the Irish down DePaul (March 30) in
Notre Dame's conference-opening weekend ... Valdivia got the
win and went 5.2 innings and struck out three with Bargar
stepping in to finish the final 1.1 frames to earn her first save
of the 2008 campaign ... the duo's efforts put
an end to DePaul's 25-game regular-season
conference winning streak that dated back to
April of 2006 ... it was also Notre Dame's
first win at DePaul since the 2005 season ...
the win also signified the first time Notre
Dame beat an opponent that carried a No.17
ranking, and was the 16th time the Irish shut
out a ranked foe ... tabbed the league's top
pitcher of the week on April 7 ... Katie Laing
was the conference's top player for the week
as well, marking the only time throughout
the season that a pair of players on the same
team swept the awards ... earned that third
conference honor of the season on the
strength of her trusty right arm that helped
her collect four BIG EAST victories along
with a midweek win over Toledo (April 2) ...
her 5-0 record for the week was parlayed
with a 0.00 ERA ... fanned 27 batters in 27.1
innings of work ... she allowed only 12 hits
- all singles - four walks, and one unearned
run ... tossed 13.1 innings over two games at
St.John's (April 5),totaling 16 strikeouts while limiting the Red
Storm to seven hits ... she was able to run her streak of innings
pitched without surrendering an earned run to 57.1, beginning
with the March 14 contest at Charleston Southern and ending
with a home date versus Eastern Michigan (April 9) ... a gameone
start against Villanova (April 13) in which she surrendered
four earned runs marked the first time she allowed more than
one earned score since a Feb. 24 outing at Florida, covering
111.2 innings of work ... her win over the Wildcats in game
two gave the Notre Dame program its 200th BIG EAST
Conference regular-season win ... limited Rutgers (April 14)
to one hit in a shutout win ... stepped in to toss 2.1 frames at
Purdue (April 22) to earn her second save of the season ...
Notre Dame notched the 800th win in program history in a
game-one win at Syracuse (May 4) with style, as Bargar
blanked the Orange by tossing the fourth no-hitter of career
and the 35th no-no recorded in 20 seasons of Irish softball ...
made the 100th start of her career in a BIG EAST Tournament
battle with Louisville (May 8) ... her second no-hitter in as
many weeks came in the opening bout of the NCAA
Tournament versus Kent State (May 16) ... the 9-1 decision
marked the fourth no-hitter of Bargar's career but the second
in which the hurler allowed a run ... it was the first no-hitter
ever for Notre Dame in the NCAA Tournament.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2007): An essential part of the
starting rotation ... led the pitching corps in all major statistical
categories ... totaled 252.0 innings in the circle while fanning
243 batters ... had 23 wins on a 2.06 ERA while holding
the opposition to a .215 batting average ... started 40 games
while seeing relief time in four games ... established herself as
one of the most durable and dependable pitchers in the conference
... led the BIG EAST in overall wins (23), innings
pitched (252.0), strikeouts (243) and complete games (28) ...a second-team all-BIG EAST choice ... pitched a complete
game with seven strikeouts and only two runs allowed to start
the season off at Auburn (Feb. 16) to take the win ... picked
up second win in a complete game against Tennessee Tech
(Feb. 17), gave up only two earned runs with eight strikeouts
against the Golden Eagles ... took the tough loss against
Virginia Tech (Feb. 18) after scattering nine hits but only one
earned run in the complete-game effort ... also struckout
eight Hokies ... selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor
Roll (Feb. 19) as she had 24 strikeouts in 20.1 innings pitched
at the Tiger Invitational ... went 6.0 innings against No. 9
Oklahoma (Feb. 23) ... picked up win against UNLV (Feb. 24)
tying her career-high with 8.0 innings pitched while also
adding 11 strikeouts ... went the distance in the win against
Ole Miss (Feb. 25) with one run allowed and five strikeouts
... threw a complete game with only one run allowed and six
strikeouts against Virginia (March 2) ... named to the BIG
EAST Weekly Honor Roll (March 5) ... pitched 6.0 innings
against UCLA (March 11) in the Long Beach Invitational ...
pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts against No. 2
Arizona State (March 15) at the Judi Garman Classic ...went
the final 2.0 innings and earned the first save of her career
against Fresno State (March 16) ... tied a career-high with 12
strikeouts against No. 16 Louisiana-Lafayette (March 16) ...
had the first two at-bats of her career against the Ragin'
Cajuns ... threw 5.0 innings against No. 8 Texas (March 17) ...
went the distance and limited IUPUI to four hits in a 6-1 win
over the Jaguars (March 22) ... threw team's first shutout of
the season in an 8-0 win over St. John's (March 24) ... she only
allowed two hits with eight strikeouts against the Red Storm
... threw a complete game one-hitter with nine strikeouts in a
2-1 duel over Seton Hall (March 25) ... named the BIG EAST
Pitcher of the Week (March 26) after completing a 3-0 week
with an ERA of 0.35 and limiting her opponents to a batting
average of .106 ... allowed one run on three hits in a 4-1 win
over Toledo (March 29) ... also made her first career hit a
memorable one - it was a game-winning, three-RBI walk-off
in the bottom of the seventh ... allowed only two hits and
struckout eight in a 4-0 complete-game shutout of Pittsburgh
(March 31) ...went the first 6.0 innings with one hit allowed
and had a hit herself in the 7-0 win over Syracuse (April 1)
... was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll (April
2) for the third time on the season as she went 3-0 with a 0.35
ERA on the week with 21 strikeouts in 20.0 innings ...
pitched the first 4.0 innings with three strikeouts in a no-decision
against Eastern Michigan (April 10) ... defeated
Providence (April 14) in the first game of the doubleheader,
as she only allowed one run on four hits with four strikeouts
... started both games against Western Michigan (April 17)
throwing a total of 7.0 innings with no walks,two hits allowed
and six strikeouts ... picked up the start against Ball State
(April 18) and combined with Kenya Fuemmeler to record
the 33rd no-hitter in program history ... she tossed the first
6.0 innings, fanned seven and issued a pair of walks ... it was
the second no-hitter of her career and the seventh combined
no-hitter in Irish history ... started and went the distance while
scattering seven hits and striking out five in a 5-0 win over
Valparaiso (April 19) ... the shutout was her third completegame
shutout of the season ... also had a hit and drove in a
run against the Crusaders ... threw a complete game against
Louisville (April 21) ... had a hit and an RBI against the
Cardinals ... pitched in both games of an April 22 doubleheader
against South Florida ... in the first game against the
Bulls, she struckout nine ... started both ends of the doubleheader
against No. 15 DePaul (April 29) ... in the first game,
she went the distance and only allowed three runs ... then followed
that performance with 5.2 innings of work and only
three earned runs in game two ... pitched her second no-hitter
of the season against Loyola-Chicago (May 1) ... she
struckout 10 with her only blemish coming courtesy of a hit
batter in the first inning ... had a complete-game win over
Rutgers (May 5) with seven strikeouts ... started and won
both games of the doubleheader over Villanova (May 6) ... also
drove in the game-winner with a two-run double to leftfield
in game two with the Wildcats ... named to the BIG EAST
Weekly Honor Roll (May 7) for the fourth time after going
4-0 with 28 strikeouts in 26.0 innings against Loyola, Rutgers
and Villanova ... went the distance with two hits allowed and
seven strikeouts against Connecticut (May 10) in the first
game of the BIG EAST Tournament ... had a run-scoring
fielder's choice against the Huskies ...flirted with perfect game
into the sixth inning against No.12 DePaul (May 11) in the
tournament's next round ... gave up two runs on three hits
against the ranked Blue Demons ... went the distance in the
championship game of the BIG EAST Tournament against
Louisville (May 12) allowing three runs with six strikeouts ...
over the course of the league tournament, she had a 2-1
record with a 1.75 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 20.0 innings ...
tossed first 6.0 innings in a 3-0 win over Wright State (May
19) in the elimination game of the NCAA Tournament ...
struckout nine Raiders and only surrendered three hits and a
walk.
AS A FRESHMAN (2006): Second in the pitching rotation
behind starter Heather Booth ... posted the biggest victory
of her young career over No. 10 Arizona State (March
16) at the Judi Garman Classic ... it was then that she allowed
seven hits, two runs and fanned seven in the 3-2 Irish victory
... picked up her first career shutout victory in game two of
a doubleheader at Cal Poly SLO (March 12) scattering six
hits,walking three and striking out eight ... solid against Tulsa
(March 3) as only one earned run crossed the plate with nine
strikeouts and five hits in the complete-game 2-1 loss ...
needed only 3.0 frames to pick up a 10-1 win over Northern
Iowa (March 4) ... picked up her seventh victory of the season
at Western Michigan (March 25) by logging her longest
career appearance to that point, going 7.1 innings while
allowing just three hits, four walks and sitting down six batters
on strikes ... pitched into extra innings for the second
consecutive outing and earned her first career no-hitter in
game two of a twinbill with Connecticut (April 1) ... struckout
six, walked one and
allowed an unearned run
against the Huskies in
